About Knitex
A knitwear factory in Kathmandu
Every Knitex piece is made in Nepal, from yarn to finished garment, by our own team in Budhanilkantha.
Wool and cashmere only
We work only with natural animal fibres: soft wool and fine cashmere, in natural undyed shades and custom colours.
Made by hand
Our knitters and finishers shape, link and trim each garment by hand, so every piece carries the care of a real craftsperson.
For brands and people
We produce for international labels and wholesalers, and we sell directly to shoppers and visitors to Kathmandu.

How we make it
From yarn to finished garment
Yarn selection
We choose wool and cashmere yarns by softness, weight and colour for each order.
Knitting
Panels are knitted to the pattern and gauge set for each style and size.
Linking & hand finishing
Our finishers join seams, add ribbing and attach buttons by hand.
Washing & pressing
Each piece is gently washed and pressed to bring out the softness of the fibre.
Quality check & packing
We check every garment for size and finish, then label and pack it for shipping.
